Stefanie Swift is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Fort Myers. She has an extensive history in psychological and neuropsychological evaluation and a thorough understanding of how neuropsychology impacts our emotional being. She takes a holistic approach when working with clients and examines all different aspects of the person in order to help the client heal and live a more balanced life.
Stefanie graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a Master of Science Degree in Mental Health Counseling and from San Francisco State University with a Bachelor of Art Degree in Psychology. In addition, she is a Nationally Certified Counselor (pending licensure) and Board Certified in Psychometry (psychological and neuropsychological assessment). She has been involved in the field of mental health for over 12 years, working with clients ranging from ages 1 to 99 (and over!). She has enjoyed working with a broad spectrum of clients over the years and finds much joy in learning from each stage of life.
As a solution-focused therapist, she truly believes that each person holds the solutions to overcoming their challenges, and through working closely with her clients, together they are able to remove barriers keeping individuals from reaching personal goals. By incorporating different therapeutic methods she is able take a holistic approach that is collaborative and tailored to the needs of each client. She strives to unlock the best therapeutic tools to reach clients where they are.
Stefanie has completed Level 3 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and is trained in both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy methods. She works with children, teens, adults (individual and couples), and geriatric populations. Stefanie treats clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, interpersonal difficulties, life transitions, infidelity, parenthood challenges, divorce, career transitions, and work-life balance. At the core of her therapeutic philosophy is genuine support for client growth and personal insight, which is best fostered in a safe, warm, and encouraging environment. She strives to make the therapy space comfortable and nonjudgmental, a place where her clients feel inspired to have the conversations they need in order to make the changes they desire.
When she is not seeing clients she can be found spending time with her beautiful family. They enjoy cycling and venturing abroad, although much of her time is spent at home simply enjoying the company of her family and playing in the backyard.
